Family & Matrimonial

We can offer you practical advice to assist with all types of family and matrimonial issues. Please see the links to individual pages about Divorce and Separation, Cohabitation and Children.

Our staff include members of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), a body committed to promoting a spirit of non-confrontation in which matters can be dealt with in a sensitive, constructive and cost-effective way.

If you are in receipt of a low income then providing you can produce documentary evidence of this we may be able to deal with your matter under public funding (Legal Aid). We can also offer a short initial consultation free of charge whatever your financial circumstances.

We can support you whilst you are going through an alternative dispute resolution method such as Mediation and provide the legal paperwork to endorse agreements reached via this process. Mediation is a voluntary process whereby separating couples meet with an impartial third party who provides relevant information and support but cannot provide legal advice.

We also offer the Collaborative Law approach. This process encourages separating couples to work together with the support of individual Collaborative Lawyers who will guide and advise them throughout a series of four-way meetings. The focus is constructive discussion and therefore the process promotes respect and honesty and places the needs of children first. It is also a key element of Collaborative Law that the separating couple and their solicitors all agree to resolve matters without going to Court and so if discussions break down and a court application is the only way forward, new solicitors must be instructed.
